About the Author
Randy Estes was born in Northeast Arkansas in a small town called Piggott. At the age of 5, Estes' father moved the family to St. Louis in search of work. Estes spent his summers in Piggott with his grandparents. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving one tour in Vietnam in 1968-69. He lived in Virginia and worked as a carpenter for 20 years after his discharge. After being hurt on a job, he began teaching carpentry and cabinet making to prison inmates. After his retirement as an instructor, he moved back to Northeast Arkansas.
