Over the many years of service to his country he developed friends and business associates in high places, such was Helen Schroeder an ex-FBI agent who had served in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, California. Now she worked as an informant and would offer Jack Abbott assistance in many other ways, sometimes outside the law!

The Lenora Assignment Grey Stone brings to the reader a fast-paced account of the world we live in today. In simple terms and expressions, he depicts a segment of our society we would like to forget. . . maybe it would just go away. . . but when we come back to the real world, we realize we must deal with very dangerous situations which envelops us. When Jack Abbott accepted the 'Assignment', he knew immediately he was entering a new battlefield without 'trenches, pill boxes or bunkers'. In this war he would ignore the Geneva Convention rules of conduct and maybe he could stay alive! After the Attorney General laid out his assignment, he was aware the Luxury Yacht, 'The Lenora', meant death in many different ways. It would be a hard battle for Abbott, because he would not 'stand-down' for any man. Let the new war begin!
About the Author
Burt Northcutt, a.k.a., Grey Stone is a native Texan and received his formal education in the Texas School Systems throughout the state. He served in 1st Marine Reconnaissance Company during the Korean conflict. When discharged he pursued a career in the fields of Finance, Transportation and Banking. Immediately upon retirement he began writing fictional genre, both contemporary and historical, providing action, intrigue and mystery for the reader. Previously he has authored two novels, 'Straight Arrow', a contemporary murder mystery and , 'Timberlake' a historical fiction taking us back to the 1934-1942 era. In a recent interview he was asked about his favorite work. His immediate reply, "'Timberlake', because I lived it!" In addition to 'The Lenora Assignment', he recently finished his fourth novel, 'Ryder', a western murder mystery set in mid 1865. When asked for more details he only smiled and said, "The best I can do for now is to say. . . 'it's different'!" Publishing date is set for 2014.
