Your Mind is a Treasure!

3:7 YOUR MIND AND YOUR DESTINY A lost mind is a lost destiny. Having little or no understanding of your mind is the progenitor of lunacy. You see life’s sequence exposed when your mind is renewed in Christ. Yet, not just this renewal only, but its awareness also. Proper use of the mind is one of the veritable proofs of your divine regeneration! Renewal stems from regeneration. Regeneration is essentially spiritual. At redemption, there is a spiritual renewal called new birth. Here, the spirit is quickened/ regenerated. Thereafter, there is the need for a constancy in mind renewal via the Word. This is the enabler of the openness of the mind’s eye. It directs towards single-mindedness in the things of God. It propels with a craving to do right and to do the right things. In summary, mind renewal via the Word is an enabler of the spiritual instrument for extra-ordinary effectiveness and efficiency. In life, sin fascinates in order to assassinate. Bread of deceit is sweet, yet it is like gravel afterwards (Proverbs 20:17). A bait goes ahead of sin. This bait is an enticement of abundant evil thinly coated with pleasure to make it seem good. It is subtle deception. A trap. It gives a pseudo-impression of a free provision for enjoyment. Like the bread of deceit, it also actually gives pleasure –very momentarily though. But, the consequences thereafter are most devastating. In the overall analysis, the said pleasure turns out to be ultimately worthless (a pyrrhic victory in pleasure). As you renew your mind, you are open to the real utilization of your mind. One way is by fleeing from sin. Another is by exploring and exploiting your potentials. This enables you stand taller physically and spiritually. You enjoy God’s provision and become distinguished in excellence. This is the heritage of all in the Kingdom. Now and hereafter. Recall that, the Kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of the Lord and of His Christ (Rev 11:15). You are of Christ! You have the mind of Christ (1Corth 2:16). God in your life is what makes all the difference. You cannot succeed appreciably in life if your mind is not align with divine precepts (Joshua 1:8). If you go out of God’s way, you will become a failure. If you partially obey the Word, you will live a life of struggles. However, if you live the Word, you make the most impacts. Exploits are reserved for the informed children of the Kingdom (Daniel 11:32b) You have been sent here with specific mandates. We refer to the total embodiments of these mandates as destiny. It is only within a man’s destiny that he can make the most impacts in life. Salvation helps you to locate your position with God. It propels towards fulfilling destiny (Rom 8:28-30). Salvation secures your eternal communion with God. Yet, you must be fruitful so as not to be hewed down (John 15: 2-6). Fruitfulness only comes by walking in line with your divine destiny’s mandate. And this glorifies God. New life begins with salvation but it does not end there. Salvation must be worked out with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12b). Remember the parable of the talents ( Matthew 15: 14: 30)? The accomplishment of destiny is the next step after salvation. Salvation gives a pass mark (say 40 per cent - author’s illustration). But excellence is worked out through pursuit of destiny - just like diligence works talents to brilliance. Your destiny is your star! The major reason why you are here on earth is not just to return to your origin with God. You are here on errand to fulfil specific tasks. You need to get this very clear. When Satan fails at blinding you to salvation, his next desperate try is to prevent/ blind you from fulfilling your destiny. Satan’s first choice is to kill you. If he fails at that, then he will try to stop you. If he cannot stop you, he will try to slow you down. When Satan succeeds at slowing down a man, he will again attempt to stop him. When he is able to stop him, he will then try to kill. What desperate wickedness! Knowing these therefore, it is never too late for the living to retrace steps and follow the right path. No wrong route ever leads to the right destination. If you are going to the north, you cannot achieve same by heading to the south at the same time. Regardless of how far you have missed the course, you will have to retrace your steps in order to make your destination. You are a spiritual being having a natural experience on earth. The spirit supersedes the physical. Nothing happens in the physical unless it is settled in the spirit. The world that we see today emanated from the unseen Word. Man is expected to live by the Words that proceed from God even as he also eats bread (Matthew 4:4 , Deut 8:3). Purpose/ destiny is self-discovered upon diligent enquiry from the Most High God (John 14:14). When you fervently enquire about your destiny from God, He will reveal it to you step by step (Not all at a go).When your obedience in the first stage is fulfilled, the next stage is unfolded. For every stage passed, there is a promotion in the spirit that is evidenced by exploits in the physical. God’s best for your life is encapsulated in your destiny. His eternal purpose is for you to enjoy this life and eternal bliss with him. Nonetheless, He does not compel any to accept this. Man is a free moral agent. Where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is liberty (2 Corth 2:17).
