Do you think Jesus knew her shame and her situation and came at the hottest hour of the day so he could meet the woman at the well? Of course he did. God knows everything about us. He knows every hair on our head and he’s never caught off guard by our sin or situations. Jesus isn’t fickle for “sometimesy” like us, truth is we may have missed our opportunity to minister or help her because the accommodations weren’t right. It’s too hot, what are the other people going to think, who’s going to be at the well, how long will it take, and will there be food or refreshments? God knows what we need before we ask it, Jesus sent the disciples to buy food from the Samaritans. Further showing his desire to rebuke what other strict Jews would do, he wanted to show his love and support to the Samaritans by doing the complete opposite of what he should have done. No respectable Jew would be caught eating let alone fellowshipping with a woman at well in a place like Samaria. Jesus comes when it’s inconvenient, unpopular, and out of the ordinary. He will do anything to love on us. And him sending the disciples off to get food in Samaria shows how everyone around us will be affected by our encounters and experiences with Jesus. When Jesus shows up in your life everyone around you will get a glimpse and the community will be affected, and families will be restored. That’s just how it goes with Jesus. I’ve never known this type of man; the thought brings me to sobs. I’ve never known a man to go out of his way for my heart. I’ve known men who would go out of their way for me, but it was strings attached. Jesus knew what this poor woman had been through, the bible doesn’t describe her shame or pain-but the evidence is clear. She wasn’t in the “in crowd” she wasn’t in a position to do things the way they were supposed to be done. Her life was different; she was alone, feeling insecure, and isolated. She had a burden that kept her different and feeling unlovable. How about you and I, haven’t we felt that feeling? Where the shame or guilt is so unbearable all we can do is hide, isolate, or fly solo. I know for years, I couldn’t trust women or stand to let women come into my home because I was so ashamed. I was the girl in college who dated my friend’s ex-boyfriends or flirted with married men. I was 19 and had no moral compass or healthy filters. That guilt and shame followed me into my adult years and even into my marriage. There were times as an NBA wife I would be listening to them talk about the loose women and the women who chased married men and I would cringe-I would get so afraid that if anyone found out my past-I was going to be kicked out of the VIP section. Clearly damaged goods like me didn’t deserve to be in a circle like this. I always felt like a fraud or an imposter. These were all lies from the pit of hell. Everyone, and I mean everyone has a past. And if they say they don’t their lying. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us 1 John 1:8 Once Jesus met me and took control of my life, I couldn’t help but to tell my story to my husband, my family, and even strangers on airplanes. Once, I began to face my sin, and allow God to heal it-I realized he was using my story to touch that same circle and many others. I was having conversation after conversation with women who either wanted healing themselves or wanted to know how God had changed my life. Funny how things work once you face the captor, the father of lies (satan) and start believing God. When Jesus met me at my well, he knew I would bring many others with me. Women who need a real man to love on them, an unconditional love with no conditions and hearts that are put back together If you allow Jesus into the dark recess of your heart where the guilt and shame is, satan can no longer dangle it over your head. I know what you’re thinking, but “what if” my friends, my family, my husband, my boss, or the Pastor finds out. I say YES! By all means let them, transparency has healing and power to transform not just you but those around you. The more I told my story, the lighter my burdens got. I found myself telling the dental hygienist that I had 3 abortions, she tried to hide the mortified look on her face, but I knew in my spirit that she needed to hear some truth and love. I laughed once I got in my car like “Wow God, now I’m telling strangers my story”. That poor girls day was never the same. Teeth cleaning and abortions, God can do anything.

The Well, is one of the most important meeting places and experiences with Jesus a woman can have. This book takes place in the book of John the fourth Chapter where a woman in societal shame meets her savior. Through her ignorance, her generational cycles, her shame, her pain, and her unbelief something miraculous happens, life changing healing takes place. The well is the meeting place for all women and girls to meet their man, Jesus. Through this dynamic passage in the bible, hearts will be made whole, shame removed, and old wounds closed. Unfold the true heart of how Jesus really feels about women, he's not just a Sunday morning concept of self help or warm mantras. This meeting will allow women to unpack the baggage of low self esteem, sexual abuse, sexual trauma, betrayal, habits, scars, wounds, and unbelief. Jesus reveals his true love for women and their broken hearts in the meeting of a lifetime. No one can afford to miss God at his best, the meeting at The Well will transform the hearts of women and use their darkest pain for Gods greatest purpose. Your past is only the beginning.
About the Author
♣Dona Jackson was born and raised in the greater Los Angeles area. At the age of 17 she ventured off to Washington D.C. to attend Howard University. While studying Health management she discovered her passion to write and developed her first self published book “I will survive”. Dona met the love of her life a 12-year veteran point guard in the NBA, Bobby Jackson while visiting family in Denver, Colorado. When Bobby’s career took him to Sacramento, California it was there they began a family. She is the proud Mom of three beautiful little girls. She also has two wonderful stepchildren. Helping children fulfill their dream is a special passion she admonishes as a joy. Dona started a program called Sole to Sole that helped raise over $40,000 for hungry children in Africa. The program put shoes and socks on hundreds of children’s feet in Nairobi, Kenya while feeding them through the school feeding programs. She has made two trips to Africa with an organization called Feed the Children to spend time with the children and meet some of their basic needs. Dona spearheaded a program in Sacramento that partnered with Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson and VSP vision care to supply inner city children with school supplies and free eye exams for a healthy start to 2009 school year at Herman Leimbach Elementary School in Elk Grove, California. Dona and her husband are well known for their charitable donations in many cities such as New Orleans, Sacramento, Salisbury, Oklahoma, Compton, and Memphis with special emphasis on low socioeconomic school districts; like Thanksgiving turkey dinner giveaways, support for single Mothers, and Christmas toy drives. Dona is actively involved in her Church and Women’s bible studies. Her passion in life is to encourage women to move beyond their past, grow spiritually, and have true intimacy with Jesus Christ. In the summer of 2011, she launched The Dona Jackson Foundation to focus on mentoring girls in High school around in Sacramento, California.
