About the Book

Included: "The Boohoo Bouquet" (a garland of neglected flerrrs) was performed at the Houston Grand Opera House by the Houston Children's Chorus in 2013. The musical setting was added by Owen Robbins. "Lyric Lament" (the first line of a blues song is always repeated) was performed by Myrna Reynolds at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut in 2011 for the Women's Composers Festival. About the Author

Stevie has been listening to many rhythms since she was in a high chair. Some call them "song". Some call them "poetry". She began to arrange these rhythms as a way to document her life. As a child, student, wife, mother, teacher, singer, dancer, actress, director, choreographer, and life-long listener she is compelled to write the rhythms that she hears.
