The Prayer… “Gently I shut my eyes hoping to find a soothing solace for my inner mind loosening my grip to better unwind and begin to all that is impure, rescind Slowly comes a trickle of harmony’s blend a gentle out pour of troubles to mend I wish for this to have no sudden end for I might with much load contend I see a wondrous light in full display a soft swim in bliss this perfect day my burdens lifted I begin to say around me I feel heaven’s overwhelming spray Suddenly from this euphoria so deep my startled eyes open to slightly peep I realize then as I almost weep while trying to pray, I fell fast asleep.”

About the Book
“The Late Bloomer” is a collection of unique poems that have been extracted from the author’s repertoire, which have continued to grow since 2002. These poems each unique in their own style, provoke both young and advanced poetic minds on life’s daily experiences and sometimes the challenges they present. This covers a wide range of social, cultural, political and religious themes. The collection serves its measure of satire, comic relief, tragic situations that are easily relatable to even beyond African socio-cultural borders and thus can be understood and appreciated by all readers. About the Author
Adam Ajene, an urban and regional planner by profession has always had a passion for poetry and sports from a very early age. He gets inspired by people, situations and the environment in general. He has a strong desire to reach out to people and touch lives positively through his poems and counsel as a life coach and youth facilitator. He has a Bachelor and a Masters degree in Urban and Regional planning. He currently works and resides in Nigeria. His hobbies include volleyball, Chess, listening to music and observing people.
