About the Author

When I read my works aloud people laugh, groan and cry in the appropriate places. Then I know my material is effective, what and how are beyond comprehension, people were writing to tell me how Gillian Mk2 had made a difference. Strangers would stop me to share and ask questions, The Daily Mail ran an article, made a guest appearance on Yorkshire Television, on York Radio, Darlink… speeches at the Women’s Institute, books auctioned for The Rotary Club, dedicated website, and a scrap book full of cuttings… The year that followed was a blur and is rose tinted with vanity. Then a publisher took over, rubbish, and the man will not return my manuscript, a sickening experience making me ill. A head injury charity made me cry when I asked for help with publicity; Typically Gillian tells it how it is: Through disappointments, achievements, falls and rebounds, a new life with new faces, medical dilemmas, determination, attitude, strength, an old life still present, frustration, anger, humour, sorrow, and feelings common to all. Writing continues to be cathartic and survival is a motto, nothing is simple, everything dies eventually, unless you is a cockroach, just got to get on with it.
