About the Book

This is a novel about choices and second chances. It revolves around a young man who has made some selfish choices that have put everyone in danger. Having compiled a debt to some mobsters, he tries to figure out how to get out of trouble and also stay alive. While in a restaurant picking up dinner, there is a large explosion which leaves him wounded but alive. In the confusion he creates a fake death and stumbles away from the scene; effectively disappearing. After his escape he is discovered and adopted by a team of vagrants living in a local forest preserve, all of whom have their own reasons to disappear. As his disappearance begins to affect his wife and others, they all start to reflect on their choices and how they view their lives. In the end, through an unexpected quirk of fate, he finds a path home.
