About the Author

Lisa Belk, a Girl Scout troop leader in the San Francisco Bay Area, was introduced to Fred the Moose during a camping trip. Her two daughters and their Daisy friends wished the catchy song had more verses. The story evolved into this vibrant book that was illustrated by Lisa's husband, Jason Belk. Lisa works as an Information Technology Manager at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and also enjoys hosting various computer workshops to encourage children to pursue careers in science and mathematics.
