About the Author

While obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Alexandra Cruz had the unique opportunity to experience something more than just the study of child development, contents, and methods of teaching in a classroom. She was able to spend a significant amount of time inside classrooms, gaining an up close and personal depiction of students in today’s society. What she observed in her experience was that children were hungry for knowledge, but were, for the most part, missing innovative and exciting material to help them in their learning. This book was created from the inspiration of seeing young children want to learn.

As Alexandra spent the majority of her life in Asia, she has always had an interest in different cultures. Her dream for this book is for all children to be able to identify with somebody inside, to be motivated to read and understand the new material, and to be inspired to seek further knowledge from the content on each page. Her vision was to create something that was not only a book to buy for home reading, but also a tool that could be used in classrooms to facilitate learning. Alexandra understands the various learning needs of children today, and how important it is to incorporate a global perspective into their education.

This is Alexandra’s first book. She hopes to continue publishing books to contribute to the new generations’ passion for reading and learning.
