About the Book

Join Benny and Harper as they spread their love throughout the animal kingdom. Their curiosity of how animals share kisses allows them to discover that animal affection is just as pure, innocent and silly as our own. Porcupine Kisses is the first installation in the Love You Most series and LYM can be found represented in each illustration.

About the Author

Ryan Salvoni started writing short poems for his son while he was deployed to Iraq as a member of the Army National Guard in 2006. It was there that the idea of Porcupine Kisses was born. While deployed, Ryan kept a journal where he would write short poems that he hoped to share with his son upon his return home. It was his way of staying connected to his son when he couldn’t be near and a source of comfort during stressful times. His inspiration for creating short poems came from a childhood bedtime ritual he shared with Benny. Each night at bedtime they would make up short stories and poems about silly animals and their adventures. Ryan would start the story and Benny would take over. They took turns creating crazy storylines and hilarious situations until they laughed themselves to sleep. It was his love for making his son laugh and smile and the encouragement from the One’s He Loves Most that kept the poems coming over the years.
