About the Book
This book tells in brief the fifty years my in-laws served in Africa as pioneer missionaries and how our life for forty-one years after theirs was different, because of independence of African countries, as well as modernization. I hope it shows the thrill and love we have for Africa and her people. The basic goal in writing this book was to tell our grandchildren and our friends what living in Africa was like and the difference God makes when people follow Him. I wish I had another life to give to Africa.
About the Author
We served as missionaries in central Africa for 41 years, living in three different countries during those years: Burundi, Rwanda, and Kenya, but we worked in eight different countries in equatorial Africa. My husband was born and grew up in Africa. We met in boarding school here in the U.S. I now live with my husband of 52 years in Indianapolis, Indiana. Upon retiring from foreign missions in 2005 we both have served as associate pastors in the inner city in the First Free Methodist Church. We are both ordained pastors. We retired from that position as associate pastors in 2011. We continue to serve and worship in the same church. We have three living children. .
