Romans 8:29 and 30
“For whom He did for know He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover: whom He did predestinate, them He also called: and whom He calls, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also glorified.” (KJV)
Some of us seem to think that we make our own decisions and set our own purpose for life. This is not so. This was done by the Holy Spirit from the beginning of mankind. Isn't it amazing how God looked down from heaven through eons of time, and saw two different little girls from two different states, with two different backgrounds, having no idea concerning each other's existence, but by divine appointment, He brought together this union for a time such as this. This connection was predestinated and purposed by God.
It kind of reminded me of the relationship between Ruth and Naomi (found in the book of Ruth) whose love and appreciation for one another was brought into play by God, but yet was for a greater purpose than each of them could know. It reminded of Moses who was born to deliver Israel out of bondage. His timely birth was divinely purposed and predestined. Moses life could be divided into three forty-year phases, and each phase divinely set in order.
Phase 1: Life seemed pretty good in the early years of Moses’ life, being raised in Pharaoh’s court and receiving his education there. After a while real life begins to set in and illustrated a greater picture of God's purpose. Now that God begun to build real character and insight, it would clearly display itself later in times to come.
Phase 2: When Moses becomes a shepherd over a flock he learns humility, trust and leadership on a different level. He learns to focus and have an ear to hear. He has learned a new teaching and a new relationship in God. Now that he has met this new God, Moses is seeing through different eyes. He receives a new vision from God.
Phase 3: The shepherd becomes leader and pastor of a nation of people. He hears God’s voice and follows God’s instructions. He steps out into his new ministry to perform God’s purpose for his calling. The greater is yet to come. Isn’t it so wonderful to watch God make changes in our lives?
God uses people, ordinary people, people who are willing to give their all, people who are willing to say yes Lord, not my will but your will be done. Even if we are not quite sure what His will for us is, we still say; send me Lord I will go.
God called these two women to be used in His service. Not knowing what was ahead of us we said yes to God, send us we will go.
