About the Author

Nalini de Sielvie was born in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. On leaving school, she worked as a stenographer for an advertising agency in Colombo. Nalini then qualified as a journalist at the Ceylon College of Journalism. Nalini and her husband Conrad immigrated to Australia in 1972 where their first son was born that year and their second son in 1973. During the following years, Nalini wrote continuously and also qualified as a commercial artist. Nalini entered several literary competitions held by local newspapers, magazines and Writers World in Queensland. Her winning stories and poems were published by Writers World and local newspapers, and she was awarded many literary prizes for her work; she has published eight novels to date. Nalini paints in oils and pastels, and has won prizes for her work at art exhibitions. She is current president of Authors Australia Inc. a group of independent publishers, and is a member of the Society of Women Writers Victoria, Australian Writers Guild, Writers Victoria, and Peninsula Arts Society. Nalini teaches piano at a primary school and devotes most of her time to writing, music and art.
