About the Book

Do you believe life happens by chance, by coincidence, or perhaps it’s just plain luck? The truth is that God has a plan for your life. “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV). He cares for you and desires to be in relationship with you. Read the stories of some who had reason to doubt. As they trusted God, He met their need. Like others, there may be times in your life when the pain you feel causes you to want to run away or possibly hide from reality. You will learn that you cannot run far enough, nor hide well enough to escape. It is often at that very critical, life changing point in life that our Heavenly Father softens hearts and encourages people to reach out to Him. Don’t rely on chance; rely on God. Reach out to the one who has a plan for you. He has been there, waiting all the while; waiting for you to trust Him!

About the Author

I was born in Lassa Nigeria while my parents were missionaries there. We returned to the US when I was 2 years old and settled in Chatom, AL. where I lived until attending Auburn University and graduated from veterinary school in 1983. Immediately after graduation I opened my own veterinary clinic in Citronelle AL. where my practice included mixed animals. Often I said that I drew the line on skunks and snakes, but have to admit I have seen both in the exam room. I was called to the ministry at age 19 and have been bi- vocational since then. I was fortunate to serve as the Southeastern District Moderator in the Church of the Brethren (COB) and also served on the World Ministries Commission of the COB national board where I was vice chair of the board in 1997. Recently, I founded Hungry 4 Him Ministries to better carry out God’s call for my life. I enjoy mentoring young people and plan to host Pre-Vet Camps for high school and early college age students here on our farm. Many students need more hands on experience with animals before they enter veterinary school. I am a very proud father and an ecstatic grandfather. While I have a brother and 2 sisters by birth, God has truly given me many, more brothers and sisters in Christ, some of which are mentioned in this book. May God always receive the glory for anything positive I may accomplish as I watch expectantly for the extraordinary things He does every day.
