Falling Star

They don't know what I am capable of, but someone told them to be cautious. I am guessing it is the shadows. Only they know what I am capable of, for they were born along with us. You’re probably wondering about how the shadows were created, yet they were like us, but they were wrong. Not as in smart, but as in born wrong. Instead of a glow, they shine of darkness. Yet there was only one. His name was Ohanzee. It was a name of the dark. We were going to keep him but his dark aura grew. He scared kids and scratched their faces. He enjoyed their pain. I thought he was a good boy. Others thought differently. All he needed was a chance. The first time it happened, they locked him into a golden coffin and sent him away, hurtling into space. They didn't want to, but darkness couldn't rule our realm. The whole stars couldn't deal. We could still hear his cries from far. It haunted me the most. You could see me slither away, cry out. For many days, I just stared at where he had disappeared. My glow was faint. Nobody could understand my pain but my mother. Ohanzee was my brother. I had been named Sitara. It meant Star. He had been named Ohanzee, Shadow. It was a horrible name. It was horrible altogether. Slowly, as I grew up, I forgot and my love grew. But for Ohanzee, it must have been different. His hatred grew. For you guys, he was a black hole, for us, he was one of our kind with a dark hue. He would never be like us. Once I had tried going there with some other stars, but he just killed them and they became shadows. I was able to get away, but only me. I could also hear his laughter, not his crying, his laughter of what he had become. I knew he wasn't the little brother that was mine many years ago. Somehow, Ohanzee got hold of a comet and hurled it at me. For you, it looked as though it was streaking in the sky, for me, it looked like death. It hit me, hard. It knocked the comet off base and went hurtling away from Earth, but I went to Earth. Ohanzee knew that is where I was the weakest. A place I didn't belong.
