About the Book
The Easter Bunny That Grew Up is based on the life of a real bunny saved from the shelter Flopsy Parker, who inspired people with his message of adoption, and what happens to rabbits after they are purchased for Easter. This book was written by his mother, as a testament of love, his life and the difference he made in his short time on Earth.
About the Author
Gretta Parker has written for the Examiner, Triad Happy Tails magazine, and the Ralph Lauren Company newsletter. On September 26th, 2010 she adopted a rabbit from a shelter in Greensboro NC. She named him Flopsy Parker, and made him a Facebook page. She used his images to make posters and to promote adoption. His life became an inspiration to her, and to the people that met him through Facebook. In July 2011, she started her own non profit Baskets for Bunnies, Inc to help rabbit rescues get the supplies they need. On December 28, 2011 Flopsy passed away suddenly. Even though he is no longer here in the physical sense, his work continues. People continue to be inspired to adopt when they hear his story. Gretta plans to build a rescue in his name later this year. She also wants to continue to write about him, and their life together.
