About the Author
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jane Wamucii is a licensed Social Worker in the state of Texas, a belief therapist, and founder of bloom counseling and education services in Austin, Texas. She is originally from Kenya-Africa, and was partially raised in Kenya and Tanzania-Africa, and migrated to the U.S.A in 1995. Jane has a Master’s degree in Sociology. She has worked with human Services in Africa and U.S.A for over twenty years. Through her working career and volunteering activities, Jane has found the woman to be always the central figure in all cultures, and seems to bear the biggest burden in the family. The woman also seems to be the most influential person in the family. Jane’s passion to see women overcome cultural and societal barriers to become women of purpose and influence has continued to increase. She participates extensively in women development programs and activities, and serves as a facilitator in the women’s ministry in her local church. Her experience working with women of different cultural backgrounds helps her see things in different perspectives and has an appreciation for people’s diversity. She believes the answer and stability for any woman despite their social/economic backgrounds is an intimate relation with Jesus Christ. Her life speaks to millions of immigrant women all over the world who find themselves overwhelmed by their new cultures. Her first years in U.S.A were difficult and overwhelming, she felt confused, and standing out. Her family’s testimony is encouraging to all immigrant families looking for peace and stability as they settle in their new environments. Jane is a mother of three adult children.
