A thought linked with an emotion
becomes an extremely forceful current.
Destiny is shaped due to such a combination
as we act on it; as we self-identify with it.

I have always been amazed by this void we call the mind.
What is its substance? How do feelings and thoughts manifest in this mind?
Are they a part of the mind; a quality inherent and therefore inseparable from this mind?
Who is this mind; what is this body in relation to the mind and how do we get to know it?
I have long thought about a way to be able to see and also separate all the many notions of the mind.

Within you, in the vision of your inner eye,
follow in detail as I, to you, shall describe
your mind, being the King of this field in this palace
of 9 gates, your body, the regime of your highness.
Sitting up there on the towers highest place,
on a throne of gold with quiver and mace.
With the exception of the roof 'and a crown’ he adds,
He sits beyond as a witness, collecting tax.
His musketeers are his dear warriors
who act on commands given from their superiors,
such as talking, listening, seeing and giving greetings
to other regimes and with them has meetings.
Like this, the command of the King is carried out
by his dearest warriors, to mention a few
arms, legs fingers and mouth.
In a Kingdom of his, the mind,
You can be absolutely sure to find,
hundreds of children all over the place,
respectively called: Wish one to a hundred in this case.
But of all he loves his musicians five,
they put on for him the most brilliant disguise.
Entertaining him from early morning till late night,
showing, singing, presenting and feeding him to his delight.
As if bound to the throne of yore,
he still lingers wanting more and more.
Even with age he has reached the peak of the top,
but his vanity hopes he never gives up.
But alas, see how the King when his palace expires
thinks it's the end, but all it requires
is a little contemplation on the waxing
and waning of the moon,
whose appearance and disappearance
is a fake, must he realize soon,
that he thus exist himself, like water
captured in an earthen pot on cracking,
again shall flow out freely, though a body lacking.

The human race is divided because of the mind associating with its lower nature, or as Sigmund Freud described it ‘being driven by the subconscious mind’. ‘The Shadow’ – a narration by the Danish author H. C. Andersen – illustrates this concept well; showing how a well composed person gets deluded and suppressed by his own “shadow” side (subconscious mind). The mind which divides the entire world into numberless names and forms also unites the whole as one creation. One existence. One living organism.
But the mind is exposed to the changes of mental patterns. From being calm and composed, something causes it to develop a schizophrenic side. So what exactly is causing our minds to change so rapidly from having common sense and clarity, to cloudiness, doubts and confusion? In the 2'nd chapter of the Gita it says that it is the object we behold in our minds that we develop an attachment to. Attachment to an object...
