Another knife flew through the night air, crumbling Max. Imran went to help him, and Will felt a hot anger brim inside him. He charged the creature while continuously firing at his head. The Hacker tried to strike Will’s head, but he quickly dodged it and shot the Hacker twice in the face. The Hacker stumbled and crashed into a small artillery piece. It leaped up with a roar and aimed a knife at Will. Will had developed many powers during training, and he felt a familiar tug in his gut. Energy flowed into his fingertips, and he caught the knife in the air, and then redirected it to the Hacker. The energy flowed into the spinning knife as it hit the Hacker in the chest, creating a small shockwave. The Hacker stared at the knife, and then fell down, dead.

About the Book
The New Hero is a tale of courage and mystery, as a young orphan named Will discovers who he truly is. After a mysterious accident in Hawaii, Will is kidnapped in one of the oddest manners, and then realizes that there is another world lurking in the human civilization. He tries to understand who he really is, only to be told by people who befriend shape-shifters. Soon realizing that he is supposed to be the greatest hero mankind has ever seen, he becomes a child soldier and goes on a journey of betrayal and friendship, seeing horrors that aren't meant for a fourteen years old's eyes. He realizes that the world is not the innocent place that it seems and learns the secrets of war. Blood and tears are shed, friends are lost, and yet Will still fights on. Can he get through all of this chaos? Or will he perish as another casualty in this war?
About the Author
Chris Pang is a rather unusual author. Last year, when he was only ten, he began to write this book. Vancouver, BC, is his home, and he counts it as the most beautiful city in the world. He reads almost all of his spare time, especially supernatural thrillers or young adult novels. Writing is his best subject and he thoroughly enjoys letting his imagination run free. He got his idea of writing a book when he began wondering why adults were writing the books for them. The book took him few months to write, and it was actually not an easy task, especially for someone as young as him. He enjoys playing sports like basketball and swimming, and loves to read and write. We are now looking forward to reading his next book, which is about samurai.
