About the Author
About The Author Within the confines of a one-bedroom apartment, in the pitted stomach of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mr. Schwartz was brought up in a single parent dwelling with his two younger sisters. Common interests among siblings, was hard pressed to say the least. Often finding difficulty in finessing his way out of the many “Barbie Doll Tea Parties” thrown by one of his younger sisters or the need for a husband during a daily fantasy of “House,” illusiveness became imperative. Ultimately, exploration was Mr. Schwartz's serenity, tramping through his neighboring patches of wooded swampland; he would build secret hidden fortresses, both underground and in the trees. Other times, he might just climb the limbs of one of his multi-appendage comrades, (thus allowing him to perch himself high above, unnoticed) and observe the wildlife frolic below, as birds were giving flight only a few feet away from his reach. Now, Mr. Schwartz takes solitude in the city of Dubuque, Iowa, where he and his canine companion (Max) have ample opportunities to wander about (the rural areas) vast bluffs and wooded landscapes, often evoking his childhood memories to the ones he had cavorted as a child. Whether it's a stroll through “The Mines of Spain” or a canoe ride down “Catfish Creek” the two of them are always together and fervently living out youthful reminiscences of cherished yesterdays. Mr. Schwartz's unbridled imagination has yet to find slumber, as you will read in these sweet, compelling stories about a young boy, his canine companion and their wildlife friends. There's nothing quite so invigorating as the feel of the earths skin under your feet and the sound of nature's voices in your ear. Make all your journeys, memoirs. B.J Schwartz & Max
