About the Book
Two trips to Florence and Tuscany prompted us to write this book. We have been amazed by Florence, the Tuscan Hill Towns, and The Cinque Terre. Architecture and history are discussed for the entire region. The towns in this book are Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pisa, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vernazza, and Monterosso. The Cinque Terre emphasizes the 400 year old towns and their architecture.
About the Author
Alfred Schwecke was a career military Officer educated in Chicago and the University of Illinois. In the military, he always carried a camera to photograph the different lands that he traveled. Spending 22 years as an aviator, he has been to 47 countries. Turning to Professional Photography in the 1990's, he spent most of his time traveling the Western United States including Hawaii and Alaska, winning over 20 awards over the last 10 years.
