About the Book

Lelani is the secret keeper of the Jackson family. She and her husband Rakim of 32 years have raised four beautiful daughters, who have interesting lives of their own. Jada, Charmya, Taniya & Raven have sought their mother's advice and confided in her even when they couldn't confide in each other. But when one secret is revealed it threatens the very family Lelani and Rakim fought so hard to protect. It unravels other secrets buried long ago, unleashing past pain, guilt, shame, anger and resentment. As each member recounts the events that take place, they are faced with uncertainties that threaten the very relationships they have with each other. About the Author

One evening while reminiscing with her girlfriends about their childhood mischief, TéChele Johnson wondered what life would be like if these four rambunctious girls grew up living under the same roof. The result is A Family Torn, a humorous, yet touching novel of veiled secrets and unwavering sisterhood. Ms. Johnson is currently majoring in English with a concentration in Creative Writing at the University of Phoenix, and holds an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. She lives with her family in East Orange, NJ. This is her debut novel.
