About the Book

Every time somebody new moved into the little town of Eagles Ridge, GA, Martin Johnson was aware of it. He had to be. It was his responsibility as town sheriff and had been since he was appointed/elected four years ago. So a new family wasn’t that unusual but this one sure was. A lone woman with hair like flame that set fire to his imagination with hazel eyes that changed almost every second. How could any man not find Amanda Fleming totally fascinating? He may be fascinated but the feeling was not returned, as his friendly advances were meet with a wall of solid frozen stone, something that was considered very rude in a small southern town. The last thing medically retired FBI profiler Fleming wanted or needed was attention. Any attention. She had fled her former life because she just couldn’t stand the whispers and the looks of pity from her friends and co-workers. Like a willing Rapunzul in her tower all Amanda wanted was to be left alone. The hand of Fate had been very cruel to Amanda but she gives as well as takes. Amanda and Martin may hate each other on sight but the heart chooses as it chooses and what you think you want isn’t what you need at all.

About the Author

I have always loved writing and telling stories. I think it is a family trait. Both my parents were good at it and my sisters and I have all inherited the gift of vivid story telling. My mother and father both passed away without writing down the stories of their lives and the world is a much poorer place because if it. Now all my sister's and I have are the memories of those stories and as good as we try and remember, things fade and change with time and things recalled by one is not the same as by another. After my divorce four years ago I really didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. I had always loved to read and writing in high school had been a very large passion. One day I saw an interview of a rather well know author. She too hadn't written much since her young adulhood but was inspired to try. Well so was I. By her story. My hats off to Stephanie Meyer for all the unknown authors out there that decided to follow in her footsteps. My first unpublished work was sequel to her well known and much loved series. I had so much fun putting my own spin to her world that I took a chance and developed my own. I had help of course and encouragement. My son and his friends, my girlfriends and even some very understanding co workers all said the same thing. Go for it. You won't know it you don't try. So I did. I hope you enjoy the journey into my first oh so enjoyab trip into the world of romance. I know I did.
