“Hello, Chickory,” Basil replied. “Where are you going today?” “I am going to visit a very important friend,” Chickory replied, smoothing the fur back on his head and looking very sharp and put-together. “Oh? Who is that?” asked Basil. “And may I come along?” “I am going to see The King,” Chickory replied. “The King of Prussia!” “A king?” Basil exclaimed, his eyes widening. “A real king?” “But of course!” Chickory replied. “And he is expecting me soon, so we should get going!”

About the Book
Welcome to the third book in the Basil series! Our long-eared cottontail friend is growing up quickly and exploring his world, which includes making interesting new friends. On this day, his friend Chickory introduces him to a very different inhabitant of the garden who teaches Basil a little something about the definition of greatness.
About the Author
Diane Squires lives in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, with her husband, David, children Stephanie Thompson and Tyler Squires, and eleven pets that include five rescued domestic rabbits. Born and raised in Maspeth, New York, she settled into the Philadelphia area in 2001. Diane is also the author of the first two books in her Garden Rabbit series, “Basil’s New Home” and “Tater Soup”. In 2008, she published her first young adult novel, Joshua Road.
