In the preface I have given through a shortened biography insights into the views of the modified leader, in this introduction section I attempt through a synopsis of the five most challenging system implementations as systems implementation leader to provide an understanding of not only my system implementation experiences and the challenges the various teams and I had to deal with but also to give insights into the system implementation environments that have molded the modified leader in me. It is this half a dozen system implementations that formed the basis for my notes that I have boiled down as little gems and presented to appreciative audiences in Orlando, USA and Toronto, Canada. Take a look at them and see if your system implementation experiences are similar. An analysis of this half a dozen of project initiatives over the past 14 years allowed me to formulate the leadership quality matrix for the various system implementation phase roles and responsibilities. Furthermore it also forms the foundation for the definition of implementation critical success factors, roles and responsibilities and leadership qualities required to support implementation critical success factors and leadership models to determine the various leadership qualities.

About the Book
I had a truly extraordinary career. It is a child-of-farmer´s tale reflecting discipline, high standards, hard work and high integrity. Today I am viewed as a well respected systems development and implementation leader between my colleagues and team members. Over the years I have dedicated my self to adding value to my employers and team members. I was born on September 25, 1961 in Niekershoop a very small farming community in Northern Cape Province, South Africa to Francois and Martha Jacobs, both from the traditional South Africa farming culture. Twenty-four years since 1985 in business. My international system implementation experience includes countries such as Brazil, Canada, Caribbean, Kazakhstan, Russia, South Africa and United States of America. My biggest value-add is my understanding of Information Systems from both the operational and consulting perspectives. I have management (general, project and business administration management), business analysis (business information analysis and business process engineering) and information system (systems and technology) knowledge and experience in the Consulting, Chemical, Metals, Manufacturing, and Agricultural industries. My leadership and coaching ability is driven by high levels of self motivation, analytical capability, people orientation and ability to communicate at all walks of life. My knowledge and experience are strengthened by formal education: PhD, (Price Decision Support Systems), May 2000. M.Com, (Financial Information for the Management Process), 1993. B.Econ.
