About the Book

Out on the eastern plains of Colorado, where fields of wheat sway gently in the summer breeze and cattle graze on pastures of grass, there are colonies of prairie dogs that live in prairie dog towns.

About the Author

I was born during World War II. My Dad and Mom rented a small three room farm house where I was born. This Farm was next to the farm that Dad and Mom later bought. This is where I grew up. In those days there were neither electric lights nor inside plumbing. The winters were rough on both people and animals as well. Growing up in the high plains of Colorado was a great place to learn about animals. At that time there were many prairie dog towns, crows and magpies. Many other birds and animals also called this semi- arid land, home. This collection of stories about Charlie Crow was inspired by my childhood experiences. The picture is of my wife Gloria, myself and our dog Willy.
