This book is about a teacher named Ms. Fixit who has a special way of turning the mistakes children make into a positive contribution in the classroom setting. It is a story of the challenges children face when making mistakes and other students make fun of them.It is presented in a humorous way and sends a message of the virtues of compassion and acceptance. About the Author

Laurie is a retired Special Education teacher who taught hundreds of children throughout her 30 year career. She embraced the different ways her students would think and always acknowledged their contribution to the classroom to be of worth. She turned tears into cheers. As a teacher who taught in a "non-traditional"way,she felt compelled to publish a book that was whimsical and quirky,yet have a powerful message about accepting others, labeling,and turning mistakes into something positive. She resides in Kansas City Missouri with her children Dustin and Alexis who were also a part of the inspiration to publish and have always been her biggest supporters and fans. Now working downtown, it was there that Laurie met caricature artist Deborah Moreno, her illustrator. Deborah also has a interest in little ones with special needs as she volunteers her time at a local hospital sketching the faces of children who are ill
