It was in front of the tree. “My Lady….Come…” it said. I couldn’t resist the scent… I couldn’t stay away from it any longer… I was now in front of the tree. It faded in the tree… “Come…My Lady.” It said. I stood there. “My Lady….join me…” it invited. “How?” I asked. “Move your arms around the tree….My Lady…Move as close as you can to the tree.” It said. I did so… I felt intense pain…. Then I let out a bloodcurdling scream… Then silence. “My Lady…you and I are together…forever.” It said. “What happens when this tree dies?” I asked. “Then, My Lady, my love, we go on.” It answered. The irony is no one ever found me… No one knows what had happened…. I’m considered a “missing person”. So, I ask again… Did I own it or did it own me?
