The day I met my darling Ken. One day whilst working in the shop with my colleague, a middle aged lady, a very good looking young man came in asking for a bottle of Chanel No.Five. He bought it, and left. When he had gone, I said to her "you know that fella you’ve just served". She said " the one who bought the Chanel". I said "Yes”. She said “do you know him then”. I said “no, I’ve never seen him before in my life, but I know I’m going to marry him.”. She looked at me and laughed, as much as to say "pull the other leg, it’s got bells on it”!. The following week, I went to Burtons Dance Hall in Uxbridge as usual, myself and my friends loved it there, they had well known bands playing, and dancing went on throughout the evening. It was the 'in' place in Uxbridge to be. Half way through the evening I was sitting talking to a friend, when someone came up and asked me to dance. I looked up, and to my amazement, it was the ‘one’, who had come into the shop to buy the Chanel perfume. I couldn't believe it. This was absolutely unbelievable. We started to dance. I told him I had seen him a few days previously in the shop where I worked.(I didn’t tell him what I had said to my colleague, that I would be marrying him!!) He said his name was Ken, he had just finished his two year National Service in the Army, where he was the Regimental Carpenter and footballer for the Army Team. He never left my side for the rest of the evening, and I agreed to let him take me home when the dance finished. In those days there was an Uxbridge Steam train that took us home. He lived about three miles from me, so he took me home on the train and then walked the three miles back to his house. He wanted to see me every night, and I did him. We were inseparable from the start. Just looking at him gave me butterflies in my tummy!! But first I wanted to make sure he didn’t have a girlfriend, the Chanel No. Five was on my mind!. But I needn’t have worried. He didn’t. So our first date was arranged for the following day, which was a Sunday, and he said he would meet me at 3.00pm outside Uxbridge Station, which was next door to the Shop where I worked!. We never left each other’s side after that. Talk about compatible. We idolized each other. This was definitely Divine Intervention. Incredible how it all happened. If I hadn’t wanted to change my Office job for Retailing, I certainly wouldn’t be telling this story now. That was in October 1954. We got engaged in March 1955, and married on October 22nd, 1955. Years later,my Mum was showing me some old photo’s she had taken of me as a baby. In this picture, I am having a professional photo taken, age 6 months. Stamped on the back of the picture is OCTOBER 22nd 1937. How's that for Divine Intervention!

About the Book
My Story, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, is a human and personal story. Patricia's Memoir covers much of her life, and of the Twentieth Century, including the Post War Years, seen from a young person's perspective. This account of her early life is vivid, it will make you laugh, and it will make you cry. The style is conversational, and is all the more credible for it's lack of exaggeration. This is a straightforward story, well told. It tells of amazing Divine Interventions, of Spiritual Guides, Helpers and Guardian Angels, who have accompanied Patricia through every step of her journey. This book will give hope and comfort to the bereaved, the sick and the lonely. Patricia sadly lost her beloved Husband Ken in October 2009, after a very happy marriage lasting 54 years. This book is almost a poem to Ken. But he has never left her, for there isn no death, as her story will prove. This is a moving memorial to a fine man in Ken, a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother. Gratitude is the heart's memory, and my heart remembers.
About the Author
Patricia Foster was born in Middlesex, England, married with two Sons, and is a well known Spiritual Healer with Psychic ability. She has had articles written about her in Newspapers and Magazines. She is a Qualified Practising Healer with the Surrey Healers, and has a Pass which allows her to visit Patients in any hospital in the UK. Patricia's Mother, May Savidge, was born in Hampstead, London, the seventh child of Seven Children. She was born with a 'Cowl' over her face, which legend has it is lucky. It was given to Sailors to protect them before they set sail on the mighty sea. May could read the tea leaves, and would do so to anyone intrigued by it. Her Father Ralph Savidge, was also the Seventh Child of Seven Children, born in Sherwood, Nottingham..His Mother Clara was a Spiritualist Medium, and would give Readings during breaks from Bridge Parties she held. Patricia would have recurring dreams when a young girl that she was reading Lessons in a Church Pulpit, speaking wih a foreign tongue. She stumbled across her healing gift in 1988. Healing is a Divine Plan. She had been born to heal, and until then channelled those gifts in other ways, with her caring and compassionate nature.The Power was within, and she set about using it. All through Patricia's life, Divine Intervention has played a large part, and it never ceases to amaze her.
