Every Uphill Has a Downhill

• Trusting God, being content and relinquishing all control is VERY hard to accept when you’re in the midst of a crisis, but I am here to tell you that you should try your best to do just that. The reasons these things are happening are to help you grow – to help you be a stronger person, and the most important thing – to grow in your faith. It took something as emotionally debilitating as this to push me to realize there was just no other choice but to trust God and give up all control. I remember falling to my knees and asking this of Him because I was going in circles trying to figure all this out on my own. And do you know what? He was there to answer my prayers. “Ask and you shall receive.” That’s what my dad always said, and I’m not sure about your dad, but my dad knew everything! But be content? Seriously? Be content when you’re wondering how you could possibly be there emotionally and physically for your kids? HA! Content when you start thinking about the what-ifs? What if I don’t have my job next week? What if I get sick? What if my kids get sick? What if I can’t afford to be on my own? What if I’m alone for the rest of my life? Content? CONTENT?? You have GOT to be kidding! But…I have grown to learn you must live day to day and not worry about tomorrow. After all – today is a gift no matter what your circumstances are. You WILL figure this out. Just think of the diversions and the bends and obstacles in the road as learning tools.
