Wisdom Flows from the Heart

A Familiar Journey I am no different from you; the salty tears of sorrow that roll down my face come from a pair of brown eyes. What color are yours? When the sun beams down on my brown skin, it makes me one shade darker. What shade does the sun change your complexion to? When I pray, I kneel down with my hands close together and my head bowed down, ready to pray to God out loud or in silence. How do you pray? I made a few wrong turns down several different roads that only led me to a life of deception, confusion, pain, and temporary happiness. Have you ever been down a road similar to mine? Well, this is what happened to me, after that long journey down those crooked roads: I fell down on my knees and began to see a straight and narrow path that led me to the road of redemption. I met Jesus at the crossroads, and I surrendered to Him. He washed my sins away. He guided me in a direction that gave me hope for all of the doubts in my life, love for my broken heart, comfort for my sorrows, faith to trust in God, and strength for the new journey to live a Christian life. I also knew at that moment why my tears were salty, and why the sun’s radiance gave me a new complexion. Jesus was trying to show me that my tears of sorrow will be changed to tears of joy; and the new shade of my complexion was a sign of being made new with the blood of Christ. Glory to God! The falling down on my knees was an indication of how I should pray to God and ask for forgiveness for every sin that I had ever committed. I thank God because it was His divine will that I made it this far today. If by chance you are in doubt about the road that you should journey down, just ask God to show you the way and to give you the wisdom to be able to handle the challenges that you will encounter on your new journey. I encourage you to ask in the name of Jesus! James 4:10 says, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
