“Mom, my nerves are not acting up so much” I said, “but I have one more question…on our way to pick up Andre, can we stop by Wal-Mart to buy me some confidence?” Mom smiled and I really felt better.

David Lawrence is nervous about playing in his first Pee Wee football game and decides he does not want to play. He is afraid of making mistakes and losing the game. After a talk with his mom about confidence and eating the yummy chocolate chip pancakes she made, he feels better about playing in his first big football game.
About the Author
Sonja Brown first dreamed of writing a children’s book when her son David Lawrence began playing Pee Wee Football at the age of 8. There was always adventure and she enjoyed their many interesting conversations about football. This is her first book. She lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico and continues to enjoy watching David Lawrence, who is now 16, play high school football.
