About the Book

Dr. Shano’s book is a personal account of his very remarkable and adventurous life. Starting out as ‘Little Majid’ from Ethiopia to eventually become the mature, adult Majid, his path in life was often stony and tortuous. It nevertheless led him from his native town Harar to the metropolises of Addis Ababa and Cairo and, ultimately, to Germany where he sought and was granted political asylum, overcoming in the process multiple hurdles and stumbling blocks.

Majid Shano fought to reach his goals with an iron will, phenomenal staying power and unshakable self-belief. He says:
