Bare footed and no shoes. That was me at the age of three. Let us go back to when I was born. 17th April 1882 I entered this world and was named Andrew Haynes. My mother Elizabeth looked over at me with joy. Her first child, someone she could love and never feel lonely again. Beth as she would like to be called, was now 18 years old, a mother and a wife. Oh yes she did get married before I came into this world but my father’s presence was little and not so often. I am sorry to say that I never knew my fathers name. He was just a man that came and went when he chose and in his presence I was told to call him father. A name I learnt over time, was too worthy of him. What he did, I did not know. He would just turn up drunk one day and would stay a while and leave again. My mother must have loved him as she stayed true to him until she died. My first few years where happy ones, with all the love I could wish for from my mother.

About the Book
Andrew Haynes was born in 1882. He lived a life of some 68yrs.Born into poverty he was forced to leave home at the age of nine to earn money for his expanded family. Andrew's story is a compelling insight into working for a large country house from the turn of the century. A romantic tale of a hard life and his one true love. There are twists and turns throughout the book which take you on a journey through a time gone by. A time of two world wars and the industrialisation of Britain. There are characters that enter your life and draw you into the story and you will long to hear what happens next.
About the Author
Milly is a true romantic. She lives in Cheshire, England with her husband and dogs. A great believer in "past lifes". For Milly this is the first of a series of stories that describe her previous lives and relay her love for life and the tales it tells. She is currently working on the sequel " Vale House" and hopes to have this in print in the coming months. Milly has carried this story around for many years waiting for the opportunity to share it. Her development means other stories are now pushing their way through and the time was right to get this one down to clear the path.
