About the Book

One morning while sitting enjoying their coffee, a group of people were horrified as they looked out and saw a mother duck waddle straight into the parking lot, her nine little ducklings right behind her. They sat there, mesmerized as she worked her way under and around the cars and trucks. Little did they know her adventure was just beginning.

This is a story of human compassion and determination, a mother’s love and the gift of a  “MAGICAL MOMENT.”

About the Author

Author and illustrator Gayle Beharrell is pleased to announce the publishing    of her second children’s book, “ LOST DUCKLINGS.”

Like her first book “THE ADVENTURES OF CHARLIE,” this book is based on a true story of human compassion. Determined to help a mother duck that lost her nine little ducklings, a group of people put their busy lives on hold and pitched in to help with the rescue.

Gayle both writes her books and illustrates them using pen and watercolor.

She has worked as a painter, potter and illustrator for children’s books. She was co-owner and illustrator for the Big Book Bin Inc. for 15 years. In that time she illustrated seventy-nine Big Books and many teaching aides to accompany them. These teaching aides were sold throughout schools in both Canada and the United States. Gayle also spent twenty-five years and many hours of volunteering in elementary schools.

Gayle’s love of family and children has always been evident in her work. She is the mother of two children and has two granddaughters. Gayle and her husband Ron, a retired elementary school principal, live overlooking the beautiful Okanagan Lake in British Columbia, Canada. She was inspired to take up her pen and write by her granddaughters Kayla and Kylee. As small children they would climb up on her knee and cuddling down would say, “Tell me a Story Nana, tell me about when you were young.”

“LOST DUCKLINGS” is the second in the “Tell me a Story Series.” While this story is of a recent event, it is also one of their favorites. Gayle writes for the children but hopes that adults too will enjoy reading her stories.
