David and the twins were lying in the bottom of the hedge.
"We're going fishing," said David, "want to come with us ?"
"On the lake," Roy added.
"Sharks and whales, salmon too," Robin spread his hands wide to show how big they would be.
"My mother said would you like to come to tea," Sam pointed to the table.
"Fishing's better," countered Robin, "fried sharks and things with chips."
"I don't suppose there are any sharks in the lake, but we've got salmon sandwiches and cream cakes with lemonade." She pointed again at the table.
"Cream cakes and salmon - spatial!" Robin licked his lips.
"All right," said David, "but we'll have to bring our stuff with us"
Sam went back to her seat at the table, "they asked me to go fishing," she said, "on the lake."
"It's a bit late to go today," her father said.
Just then the back gate opened and David and the twins came through. Mr Green took one look at them and made a sound rather like a strangled snort. He got up from the table and walked away.
"Good gracious me!" her mother went quite red in the face as she tried not to laugh.
David was wearing a yellow oilskin jacket that reached almost to the ground and carrying a fishing rod. Robin was wearing some wellies that were several sizes too big. In one hand he had a fishing net and a home made fishing rod. On his head was a sou'wester that kept slipping down to hide his face completely. Roy was was wearing yellow oilskin trousers rolled up several times so as not to drag on the ground. In the heat of the day they must have been roasted

About the Book
This is an adventure story for children of all ages. It concern a young girl Samantha Green who moves to the country with her parents. She has an encounter with the 'A' Team, three boys playing at soldiers. The have an enemy they call 'The Blighter'. Samantha is recruited as they assume she's a boy. Their adventures include battles with 'The Blighter' and his gang, Fishing and the Engine of War, The Mystery of Pringle Lodge and Buzzy and the Rustlers. The stories are informative and humorous.
About the Author
The Author lives in the old market town of Wimborne Minster in Dorset. He writes adult fiction, crime, mystery and sci fi. He has published Down in Blubell Wood, a children's story book, and is the author of the tv play The Agent. He is a retired Business Consultant and devotes most of his free time to writing.
