About the Book

This is a novel about Kele, a boy who lived many thousands of years ago in the rugged area which is now known as South-West Texas. It is a story involving his adventuresome trek with other male members of his family to the world outside of his rock shelter home...a trek met with excitement, joy and danger that will take him into manhood. A trek that will teach him values and attitudes that will help him cope in his primitive world. This novel is written for all of the young at heart, no matter their age, who seek excitement and adventure


About the Author

Ralph E. Jones holds BGS, M.A., M.Ed. and doctorate degrees. From 1958 to 1979 he served in the United States Air Force. Upon retirement from the Air Force he was employed with the State of Texas until his retirement there in 2003. He has authored many articles in professional journals and periodicals, and wrote many papers for presentation at professional meetings. His professional counseling experiences are varied, including mental health facilities and clinics, substance abuse facilities, and private practice. He authored two books entitled "Straight Talk: Answers to Questions Young People ask about Alcohol." In addition to his lengthy career as a military man, counselor, educator, psychologist, and health care administrator; he has led an adventuresome life as a vocational archaeologist. He had visited many archawology sites throughout the world, and explored many areas pertaining to early man in South-West Texas. He currently serves as a volunteer with the Veterans Administration and the National Park Service. He and his wife Maria reside in Harlingen, Texas.
