About the Book

Molly Jackson has lived a quiet life in the small town of Petacow since the tragic death of her husband, Tony, six years ago. While digging up a dead tree in her back yard, she and her dog, Annie, discover a small skeletal hand attached to the roots of the tree. She feels helpless as the hand is alive and terrorizes her. She can't tell anyone about it, due to the mental breakdown she suffered several years ago. Who will believe her without proof? Her only option is to capture it. After trapping it, her terror soon turns to curiosity and even empathy for the little hand.

About the Author

Dawn Schauer was born in Seattle, Washington. She spent most of her life in San Pablo and Fulton, California. She recently moved to Roseburg, Oregon with her daughter, Shannon Hendawi, her daughter Shelly Farinha, her husband, Paul, and her two grandchildren, Rachel and Nicholas. She has a son, Trevor, in Reno, Nevada. Dawn has always loved writing short stories and special poems for her family. This is her first novel. She is currently working on a second novel.
