About the Book
These poems were written from the heart and inspired by general life experiences. They are expressions of feelings and emotions held in observance of life, love, and nature. Together they span the stages of childhood memories to looking beyond this life. They express hopes and wishes for peace, love, joy and contentment that is sought throughout one's life time.
About the Author
Leola is a native of South Carolina. She moved to Boston and graduated from Northeastern University and received a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA. She has participated in "Creative Reading and Writing: seminars and workshops" at Brandeis, University, Waltham, MA. Leola taught elementary and basic education in the public Schools. She is now retired and has been active in church and community activities. Leola also enjoys drama. She has performed on stage in the plays, "Lavender and Old Lace", by Rose Warner and "If You Don't Water Plants They Die", by Jeanette Catherwood. Although still active in her community, she lives a relatively quiet life devoting more time to reading, collecting favorite poems and writing verses of her own. This is the first publication of her poetry.
