Shameless Verses takes you on a journey through chapters of the author's life from adolescence to womanhood. This book reveals some of Akira's deepest issues, prayers and praises. Exposed in this poetic collection are the author's real life experiences and observations on real life issues, as she presents many of her most intimate thoughts...unashamed!

About the Author

Akira Mone' Bennett, a born writer, as well as, producer, director and now, author, shares her gifts with the world in boldness and humility. Born in the Bronx, NY, in the winter of 1984 was a young woman who is often described as an “old soul”. When she was a child, her parents moved the family to Harlem, NY, where she was exposed to a rich culture of the arts. At a young age, Akira's love of poetry was sparked when her mother took her one day, to the New York Public Library for a session in free-writing poetry. Her family moved once again, to Long Island, NY, where she continued to pursue many more opportunities to write. Akira has since written several poems, plays and film scripts, along with portraying her work before various audiences, expecting to reach many! She has also pursued writing throughout her college years, affording her an Associate's Degree from a local college and a Bachelor's Degree in English from Stony Brook University. Akira has only recently discovered the author inside of her as well as her purpose in life as a writer. She is stepping out on nothing, but faith, to produce the many dreams that are in her heart. Akira is a daughter, a sister, a friend and much more, but most prominently; she is an instrument in the hands of God. She prays that many will be impacted by the great work that God is doing through her and hopes that lives will be changed forever by her story!
