City of Drama Part 2

  During the holiday season Dee sat with C-low as Nella head to the snack machine, giving the two, time to talk. C-low was transported to a federal prison in Jesup, Ga. He’d been here for the last two and a half months. Christmas was two days away and he had six and a half months more to go. Rocking a pair of sky blue jeans, white t-shirt, and a pair of black soldier Ree’s. Clean-cut fade with a sparrow of waves flowing through his head. Dee wore a long sleeve white and blue stripe Polo shirt, white tank top underneath, diamond princess-cut earrings in each ear, long thin platinum chain with a capital ‘D’ in white diamonds, matching Movado watch, half-inch thick platinum bracelet on his right wrist, setting off his pinky ring. Cornrows braided down the back of his head.

“You blingin’ now, huh?” ask a surprise C-low.                                                                   “Nah.” He laugh. “This my first time wearing all this shit at one time. Tee-Tee said the same damn thing. As long as I had these shit. I just never wore it out in public. I always

 kept it Cookie’s jewelry box. Believe me, the minute I get back in town, all ‘dis shit

coming off. Come on man…” looking over to C-low. “You know this ain’t even me. I even feel different dawg.” He chuckle.

“I know. But it looks good on you though.”

       “Sure does.” Nella came from behind, jumping in the conversation. Black J-lo jeans, an over size Baby Phat shirt that still didn’t fully hide her belly. At six months, they were expecting a little girl within the next ninety days or so. Hair in her usual Malinda Williams style, and open toe sandals. Thirty-five pounds heavier, puffy face, but was still beautiful in his eyes. Something she couldn’t see herself.

       “Sit down fatty and stop being so nosey,” he joke as she sat down next to him, rubbing her stomach. She relax, digging into her cherry apple pie, chicken wings, chips, and bottle

 water. “You go eat all that baby,” reaching out to her food. She gave him the evil eye, before knocking his hand down. Dee started laughing.

       “I meant tha’ tell you she’s real grouchy, moody, and no-manners as shit.” They all laugh before getting quiet.

       “Dee, I had you come here today to see what’s really going on,” Nella look on as he spoke, she already know what this was about, she’d even told him on the way up here.

       “I know. Everything’s fine. We went through the last batch real fast, but more should be coming first thing in the morning. Before you hear it from someone else. I double the order on this trip. Ain’t no need in bullshitting ourselves. I’ma give half to Nella, the other half going back into the next load. I just need tha’ know if you disagree with me on doubling it or using half your money for more work.” Looking to him, then Nella.                                  “It’s your call. You the man now. Its your show, lil daddy. Just be careful. I need you out  there when touchdown. In order for that to happen, you gotta play it the same way I did.

Meaning, you can’t be selling shit. All you do is pick up money, that’s it. Keep count

 of it everyday and everything should workout just fine. I’ll be home in no time.”

“Bet. I can do that.” Rubbing his palms together.

“Nella, did you drive all the way up here?”
