"The Candle" is a story about hope. Little Blue candle was pretty happy living a simple life but he had a dream. He learns a valuable lesson. Never give up hope! Even when you think nothing can ever get better, it can! An ending can be a new beginning.

About the Author

Anne Cirella-Mitts was born in Brighton, Massachusetts. She grew up in a Boston suburb with her musician/teacher parents and two young brothers. Anne was always looking for quiet places to play. The oak tree became her enchanted forest and under the piano was her castle. She read fairy tales and her imagination soared.

She started writing stories and drawing when she was young, writing about princesses, fairies, and other magical people and places. As a teenager, Anne wrote poetry.

As the years went by, Anne started a family. Her children were her first audience.

In 1985 she moved to New Hampshire where her childhood dream of living on a farm finally came true. She raised sheep, goats, rabbits and sometimes pigs. Many stories came from the happenings on the farm.

In the late 1990’s she was finally able to go to the local community college earning a Certificate in Early Childhood Education and then an Associates Degree in Speech and Language Pathology. Anne worked in local school districts for 10 years. Working with the students and creating lesson plans offered her the chance to use her skills by writing short stories and poems that she then used in her lessons.

Anne is still living in the same house in New Hampshire with her husband Arthur and her youngest of five children. She is now a grandmother and her grandchildren are her inspiration and joy.

Until recently, when the first version of "The Candle" was published in an online magazine, only Anne's students, friends and family were able to enjoy this wonderful story. With encouragement from her family and friends, she took the next step in publishing "The Candle" and she is now working on her next story for publication in the near future.
