About the Book

Reflex: I just want the opportunity to be involved in the creation process of a platform where the Black Woman can be appreciated on equal merits to her western counterpart. A platform where a lost truth is resurrected and celebrated. I have dreamt of being involved in something like this since I learnt of how much I want to learn, to grow and to elevate as not only a Black Man, but also as an expressionist/artist/photographer. Reflex for me is just that, my Reflex. It’s my passion, my obsession, my need, my food, my skill, my want...a Reflex that could not have been possible to understand and sustain without the women involved. And its with this...I bow down in homage.

About the Author

About me: I have wanted to be a Photographer since I remember how to remember, since my separate entities began to take form as a collective. What renders me worthy of that title you ask?...*sighs*, nothing more than a huge dose of self belief, that and the fact that I don’t how to do anything else as naturally as I do breathing and capturing a moment with my camera. My name is Darren Emerzy Corbin commonly known as Koax. I am a photographer by nurture, nature and choice. I’m a man, a boy child, a creator, and I a self confessed ideologist. Art for me is everything including nothing, I’m passionate about what I believe in and I strive to sustain what believes in me. ART is my life and Photography is my vice. Welcome to REFLEX.
