About the Book

The Rising Star is the second book in the acclaimed Dragonworld series.  In this story, Dillon Brown is a shy boy living with his impoverished grandfather.  He discovers a way out of their poverty by entering a children’s talent contest, as winning the prize money would help cover the cost of repairs needed on their dilapidated home.  Unfortunately, Dillon’s only talent is a few basic magic tricks that his grandfather taught him and they are not likely to get him very far!  That is until Dillon receives the help of Raif, the hypochondriacal dragon, and a strange, confused creature called Elffey, who is not sure if he is a Faerie or an Elf, who appear onto the scene causing quite a rumpus!

About the Author

Margaret Bailey lives in Wressle in North Lincolnshire.  She worked for the majority of her life in the field of mental health before retiring twelve years ago, which has given her a new lease on life to write.  Margaret co-authored two non-fiction books and she has published two children’s fantasy adventure novels, the first is called The Adventures of the Children of the Dragon Queen and more recently, she published the first book in the Dragonworld series entitled The Room of Strange Hangings.
