“Bound to Be Free” is a portion of my life's story and of my personal struggles with Domestic Violence. It portrays real life events in which I encountered in a relationship and in a marriage that was bound for destruction. In many situations I failed to recognize the Red Flags an error in judgment that would later cost me dearly. I went from asking myself “Where Am I” to wondering who am I. While depicting the power of prayer, perseverance with a hope and trust in a loving Father who wills goodness for his children, it also demonstrates a level of fear of man but yet a level of faith in God.” Bound to Be Free” exposes the evil and control of abuse whether it is male or female, with constant cries for help in what seems to be a hopeless and dark situation. Here you will find that Domestic Violence doesn't discriminate, it knows no gender, no age limit and no religion. It is vile and it is also evil. The power of abuse can carry from one generation to another as shared here, but can also manifest in so many different forms, and to so many different people connected to the abuser.” Bound To Be Free” shares of the will to believe God to do what only he can. It is meant to give courage and hope to every reader. A desire to be free and live free from being abused and for the abuser the courage to be free and live free from abusing. About the Book
In Bound to Be Free the reader will take a journey through my personal life while perhaps seeing part of their own personal journey, the reader will be both shocked and amazed as to the challenges that are presented. Despite any and all of the challenges there are innocent lives that must be protected and removed from the violence and the evil that is present in their lives. The reader will see Christian living, hypocrisy, evil, good, hurt, healing, discouragement crushed by relentless faith and the will to live in victory and not defeat. While the road is long, it's one that will be traveled. The intent is to bring hope and strength to every reader and to touch lives in a way that brings about awareness and support for those who yet struggle with Domestic Violence and it's adverse affects.
About the Author
Marva Edwards knew all about challenges from a very young age, and what it took to overcome them. What she didn't realize though, is that life would push her to a point where the surroundings no longer resembled that which she knew. Where reason did not reside, peace did not exist, and help was not recognized. The one person that was supposedly committed to her until death do they part, was trying to kill her. Marva couldn't go to her pastor for help because he was, in fact, the man she married! She was not a weak person at all, but the fear for herself and her children zapped her strength. She knew that even though the physical pain was more than she could ever imagine enduring, she had to gather what was left long enough to save herself and her children. It was then that Marva knew that though she felt trapped, her spiritual faith would carry her, and she was Bound To Be Free" again.
Marva has served as a community worker, chaired a Community Development Corporation, performed ground work for HIV testing and has served in the Pastorate for over 10 years among other achievements. Her greatest joy is her family and her work in ministry!
