About the Book

Journey to the Meaning of Love offers a collection of poems that follow the progress of a soul’s quest to understand and come to terms with romantic love and the nature of the heart. They appear in four sections, beginning with experiences and observations of love as desire, yearning, gratification or pain, moving to a more detached awareness of human interactions and needs, evolving to a deeper understanding and acceptance of the balance of opposites which leads ultimately to the recognition of love as a spiritual path, resulting in compassionate union that expresses Divine Love for all that is.

The poems come in a variety of styles from rhyme to free verse, humor to philosophy, sonnet to folksong. The mutable Muse has a voice that is sometimes Celtic, modern, Elizabethan. The subjects are personal and universal.

The author hopes the reader finds many that relate to their own experience, takes comfort and discovers new pathways and meanings on this poetic journey.
