Worth Every Mile

We are having trouble on the road with our internet connection. We have an AirCard for the computer, and in the city our connection is perfect. But when we’re camping deep in the woods, either the connection is too weak or it is sporadic. That can be very disappointing. God probably views His relationship with us in the same way. When we’re going through a difficult time, we stay connected to Him, praying about our situation day and night. But afterwards, when life is going along smoothly again, our connection becomes sporadic. We go for hours, sometimes even days, without even thinking about Him or talking with Him. In John 15:5, Jesus emphasized the importance of staying connected. He said that just as a branch can’t bear fruit unless it’s connected to the main vine, we won’t bear spiritual fruit unless we stay connected to Him. Jesus set the example for us by taking time to connect with His Father regularly, often early in the morning. The night before He died, He spent His last hours connected with His Father in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36). If we keep the lines of communication open, we won’t get “disconnected” from Him, no matter how hard the enemy tries. Check it out. Are you staying connected?
