They stretched out on the blanket and began to share their youthful dreams and ambitions with one another. In some sense the conversation was flat and unemotional. But that changed. Two egg salad sandwiches later, and two glasses of champagne had warmed things up considerably. Francoise had moved much closer. Vic was holding her, and her head was on this shoulder. In fact, both could feel each other's body from shoulder to foot. They kissed; Vic, with some hesitation; Francoise with conviction. Their passions were at high pitch and Francoise was the first to begin showing her eagerness for something more by unbuttoning Vic's shirt. He took it off and threw it aside as he began unbuttoning her blouse. She took it off, folded it, and carefully set it aside. They both were busy rubbing one another, stroking each others skin, and playing with the nipples on each other's breast, first with hand, then finger, and finally tongue. They thrust, groaned, and rolled over each other, and the blanket, as they searched for greater satisfaction. Suddenly Francoise began a new game. She kicked off her wooden clog shoes, and then stepped out of her skirt, which she carefully folded and sat aside, and stood before Vic naked in the sunlight except for her underpants. He resolved that quickly by removing them and then climbed out of his boots, pants, and shorts as she watched. Standing before her naked, his penis was at parade attention. The blood had filled him with a firmness that almost ached. He lay down beside her, but before he could mount her, she put her knees on either side of his hips, and gently, carefully slid down over him as she inserted his penis deep inside of her. Then gently rolling to and fro, pulsating to a rhythm she heard inside herself, she began to rub her stomach and tell him that she could feel his full lenght firmly inside. Then, moving her head down she kissed him with a force and eagerness that he thought might cause him to explode.

About the Book
Desires of the Heart contain stories of romance, erotica, love, and friendship. It is a series of variations on the theme of love, a fantasy of dreams, and fiction, drawn from the experience of many people, some real and some imaginary. The stories cover the full range of our lives, from youth and young adulthood to family experiences, even life and death. The final story takes place one afternoon and shares a mature love-tempered-marriage covering two life-times of living together. it is, as promised, a series of themes that, hopefully, touch us all. It is a consideration of our love and desires, as they are, could be, or might have been.
About the Author
Born in San Diego, California in 1924,the author graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic in 1942 before induction into the Army in 1943. He was trained as a surgical technician and shipped to Normandy, France in July, 1944 where he served as a company aid man for the 112th Infantry Regiment of the 28th Infantry Division. Wounded at Walendorf, Germany in September 1944 he returned from the hospital in December in time to fight in the Battle of the Ardennes where he was promoted from private to staff sergeant. Decorations include: the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, five Battle Stars for the European Theater, Combat Medical Badge, and Good Conduct Medal. He returned to college under the GI Bill and received his BA and MA in sociology from U.C. Santa Barbara, U.C. Berkeley. His professional career covered fifty years and was dedicated to the administration of juvenile and criminal justice at the county, state, and federal levels. Special awards include a Fullbright Scholarship to Britain in 1961, Winston Churchill Fellowship Grant from the English Speaking Union in 1969, Visiting Expert for the U.N. Asia Far Eastern Institute, Fuchu, Japan, 1971, and leader of six professional visits of criminal justice experts to China from 1979-1990, and one to the Soviet Union in 1989. Following retirement for the third time in 2000, he devotes his time to "story telling," and his wife of 60 years, Fran Williams Smith. The are residents of Berkeley, California where they have lived since 1951.
