About the Book

WHO SAID IT COULDN’T BE DONE?

A Diamond From The Rough

This book candidly  chronicles one woman’s journey from life on Chicago’s  West   Side ~ involving   poverty,  incest, drug  addiction, incarceration and lesbianism ~ to  ~  sobriety, spiritual redemption and inner peace.  In Denise’s  words:

“Deep  insecurity,  drug  addiction  and  role  confusion tormented me for many years.  Often I wondered if I were a boy or a girl; if I were human or an animal.  Who  am I?  What am I?  Why am I?"

This true-life account is a heartwarming, inspirational story about a little girl whose mother failed her and the emotional devastation that resulted.  From her initiation into the gay lifestyle to a near-fatal attack upon her life, Denise shares a step-by-step account of her struggle with accepting God's call and her ultimate surrender to His Will.  Her story is also about choices ~ good ones as well as bad.

Do not miss your opportunity to be touched by her powerful story.  Her message to the masses is:  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2nd Corinthians 5:17

About the Author

Denise was born into the impoverished  environment of Chicago's West Side.  The oldest of seven siblings, Denise was reared by her grandmother in a sweet but bitter home.  By the time she was five, she had been molested by several family members and at the age of eleven, her mother introduced her to a milieu overridden with drugs, sex and crime.  Denise began shooting heroin at age twelve, initiating a cycle of crime and addiction that would last14 years.

In 1986 Denise met the Lord Jesus Christ, who delivered her from the power that controlled her life and rewrote her destiny.  Upon changing her lifestyle and connecting with possitive people, she made the cognitive decision to work toward her dream.  With nothing more than a fourth grade education, she returned to school in 1993 to obtain her GED.  Today she holds a Master of Science in Non Profit Managemen and has lived the last 24 years clean and sober.

Denise currently works as a certified Addiction and HIV/AIDS Counselor.  Also a deliverance minister and motivational speaker, Denise travels throughout the Chicago area motivating small business owners, entrepreneurs and individuals to capitalize on their innate abilities to realize their goals.

Denise’s love and compassion for the disadvantaged has inspired her to write her first book, Who Said It Couldn’t Be Done?  Read her life-changing story today.
